Expanded Plantsims Mod
Hello! I’m finally here with a mod that’s been requested since the beginning of my journey as a creator. Plantsims have always been a bit… lackluster, in The Sims 4, but now they’ve gotten the “Expanded” treatment! These botanical people have a lot more to do now, so let’s get into it!
!!!Compatible with the Enchanted by Nature Patch!!!
UPDATES:
*07/22/2025
- *Fixed a bug from today’s update that stopped Forbidden Fruit from working.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Plantsim trait to be removed when traveling.
- Fixed a bug that caused the “Shrub Gown” to glitch at lower LODs.
- Added an interaction on the Nature’s Pathway object if your sim has a pan flute and level 6 Mischief skill that allows your sim to play a song and transform into a Satyr!
- Updated a lot of text to rework Mother Nature and her lore to accommodate the Enchanted by Nature pack and EA’s “Mother Nature”. (*SPOILER: Mother Nature in this mod will now be considered the “Goddess of Nature”. She is a different entity than EA’s NPC and will actually be recognized by the game as Mother Nature and Spruce Almighty’s daughter. Many people suggested I rename her to “Gaia”, the greek goddess of nature, but I decided to go with an original character to tie her in with the game’s lore. If you summon her, she will have a new social interaction that gives you a little bit of backstory!)
- “Mother Nature Approval” has been renamed to “Nature Affinity”. It functions essentially the same way and has the same gameplay effects, but has been changed to better fit with the “Goddess of Nature”.
07/14/2025
- Updated the mod to incorporate the improvements included with the Enchanted by Nature pack!
02/26/2026
- Fixed a few bugs, including vfx for the Druid “Absorb Magic” ability and the issue causing Magna Flora and Beanstalk plants to never fully grow. (Because of the way this was fixed, preexisting Magna Flora and Beanstalk plants will be reset to their planted state once the updated mod is added. This can be easily fixed by enabling testingcheats and shift+clicking the plant to set the growth stage.)
11/08/2024
- Fixed a bug that caused some players to have an infinite loading/saving screen. This was caused by the InvisibleEffectObject package. It has been altered to hopefully prevent this bug from recurring, but you NEED to use a new debug cheat I’ve implemented to ensure your save is fixed. Here’s how to do that:1. Delete the old version of the mod from your game.2. Download and install the new version.3. With your save loaded, open build/buy and place the Nature’s Pathway object.4. Enable testingcheats in the console.5. Shift+click the Nature’s Pathway object and select “CHEAT – Destroy VFX Object” from the Plantsim Mod Cheats menu.6. Save the game.
This will delete all of the leftover invisible effect objects used for various interactions in the mod and allow saving and traveling. From now on, they shouldn’t cause any issues, but if you run into the bug again, using this cheat should refresh the save and resolve it.
The Basics
Plantsims are now a permanent occult. So, no more worrying about losing your herbal powers or beautiful green skin. And speaking of green skin, plantsims also have the option of disabling various parts of their appearance! You can give them the default green skin and generic hair override, you can just stick with the green skin, or completely remove the appearance overrides and customize your plantsim to your heart’s content.
You can still become a plantsim through the normal means (using magic beans to grow the plantsim tree, etc.) or there are a few new ways within this mod.

Plumbobs
I’ve developed a love of creating the special occult plumbobs and I may have gotten a little carried away… I made 5. You have the option to choose any of the following options from the “Appearance” menu:
- Bizarre
- Vines
- Flowers
- Mushrooms
- Branches

Abilities
Basic plantsims also have some new abilities!
Absorb Water – Plantsims can absorb puddles to increase their Water need.
Commune with Goddess of Nature – Plantsims can commune with the Goddess of Nature, which is a kind of meditation that increases Plantsim Form and Nature Affinity as well as their Fun need.
Sunbathe – Plantsims can burrow into the ground and turn into a plant to absorb sunlight, increasing their Hunger and Energy needs and improving the neighborhood’s eco-footprint if you have the Eco Lifestyle pack. (Which plant you turn into changes based on the world you’re in!)
Touch Grass – Exactly what it sounds like. Sometimes plantsims just need to go outside and touch some grass.
Choose Domain – Plantsims can select a seasonal domain. Whichever season they choose, they will gain Plantsim Form at a faster rate during that time and they’ll be able to summon weather that complements that season, as well as gain some minor benefits and social interactions.
Perks
Plantsims now have a Plantsim Form skill, which denotes how much they’ve blossomed. The benefit of building this skill is to unlock perks! Plantsims will also gain Ability Points as they perform plantsim interactions or tend to plants, which can then be used to gain perks.
The following perks are available as you progress:
Chloroblast – Use your chlorophyll to blast other sims and turn them temporarily green. Hit them with it again and the effects may be a little more potent…
Druidic Power – Turn your plantsim into a Druid! Druids are skilled at nature magic and have a knack for whipping up tonics that have a variety of uses.
Fertilizing Network – Tap into the soil shared by multiple plants and imbue it with revitalizing nutrients. This can be done on natural ground or on large planter boxes.
Florakinesis – Gain control over plantlife and the ability to grow Natural Furniture right from the ground! And if you’re feeling particularly malicious, you can give a sim Nature’s Embrace and summon a vine to capture them.
Floral Photosynthesis – Similar to sunbathing, burrow into the ground to gain Hunger and Energy, but transform into a flower instead!
Nymph Allure – Become an enticing Nymph that can offer a special kind of kiss that gives other sims a potent boost to their romantic pursuits. They can also do the Dance of Aphrodite and will gain twice as much Fun need from dancing or listening to Satyrs play the Pan Flute.
Pheromones – Gain the ability to release pheromones that make sims more agreeable, romantic, or completely incapacitated. These pheromones can be released for all nearby sims or they can be focused on one specific target.
Phytomutation – Rearrange the DNA of a plant to turn it into a completely different species.
Spriggan Form – Turn into a Spriggan, a variety of plantsim that is a tree-sim hybrid. They can turn into trees that boost the environment and can change their appearance based on the seasons.
Subterranean Travel – Burrow into the ground like a mole to quickly travel from one place to another.
Sunlight Charge – Store extra sunlight energy while outside to eventually use on yourself or on plants to increase their quality.
Perks can be acquired once your sim gains at least 1 Ability Point and the “Choose Perk” option will be available in your sim’s “Plantsim” pie menu!
The Goddess of Nature
Sylvia, the Goddess of Nature, is a figure in plantsims’ lives that is ever-present and taking note of their actions, both good and bad. Plantsims will now have Nature Affinity to keep in mind while caring for the environment! Taking good care of plants, taking action to improve the ecosystem, and performing nature-based interactions will earn you Nature Affinity and get you brownie points with Sylvia, while harming plants and the environment or associating with the corrupt “mother” of Strangerville will earn you her disdain.
If your sim loses too much Nature Affinity, they may experience retaliation from the goddess in the form of curses or punishments. However, if your sim reaches Exceptional affinity, they may be able to summon her!
If you manage to get Sylvia to join your household, she’ll have a variety of abilities including a few blessings and curses, ALL plantsim perks, and the ability to shift the season at will!

Aspiration
There is also an aspiration related to the Goddess of Nature and tending to her domain. This can be completed by both plantsims and non-plantsims and acts as a sort-of guide to using the Nature’s Pathway object. There are three levels and a reward trait that allows your sim to increase plant quality with the touch of their hand!

Nature’s Pathway
The Nature’s Pathway object is a natural arch that appears to contain a swirling portal… In front of this portal is an offering circle that is meant for none other than the Goddess of Nature! Sims, both plant and plain, will be able to plant offerings in the circle by placing down harvestables and choosing to “Plant Offering to Goddess of Nature”. If a non-plantsim does this, they will be opting into the Nature Affinity system and will start gaining affinity while doing certain activities.
Once the offering is mature, your sim will be able to Make an Offering and it will be submitted to Sylvia. Depending on several factors and the quality of the plant, you may gain or lose a certain amount of affinity, which will be displayed in the interaction itself. If Sylvia is particularly pleased with the offering, she may give your sim a gift in return. These gifts can range from crystals or flowers to more rare things like Magic Beans or special seeds…
If your sim has Exceptional Nature Affinity and the quality of their offering is perfect, they will be able to summon Sylvia! However, if the plant your sim offers is of the corrupt or bizarre variety, you may be summoning someone else…
Special Plantables
There are a few special “seeds” that can be acquired and planted to grow into very special objects. These seeds are only plantable in natural ground due to their size and unique needs.

Beanstalk – If you get your hands on a Magic Bean, it can be grown into a giant beanstalk! Once fully grown, sims can climb this beanstalk and go on an adventure into a giant’s house. Depending on some skill levels, your sim may be able to get away with some simoleons or collectibles.

Magna Flora – The Magna Flora is a unique and very large species of flower that is far more sentient than the average lily. Sims can communicate with this plant and build a relationship with it. Eventually, you may be able to ask for a seed, or if your sim is a human, they could ask for some pollen to become more closely related to the flower…

Baby Plantsims – One of the most rare seeds to come across is a seed that can be planted and grown into a plantsim baby! This can only be acquired by receiving it as a gift from the Goddess of Nature at the Nature’s Pathway object. When planted, sims can Talk, Coo Over, and Read to the baby plantsim to encourage growth and after a few days of gestation, the baby will be ready to… hatch? Harvest? Birth? Whatever you call it, the baby will come out of a flower pod.
*This mod includes an override of the infant blanket that makes it look like a flower. This was the only way to make the harvesting interaction look good, but you can simply delete the “SP_PlantSimMod_InfantBlanketOverride” package if you want to keep the default blanket.

Satyrs
Satyrs are a new occult type that enjoy mischief and music. They can play a few songs on the Pan Flute, which other sims can listen and dance to, and they gain Mischief Skill twice as quickly as other sims. If your sim has a Pan Flute in their inventory and they have at least level 4 Mischief Skill, they will be able to play a special song at the Nature’s Pathway object to summon Pan, a legendary satyr!
Satyrs will automatically be given default goat legs and horns, but this can be disabled if you’d like to change the color of their legs or style of their horns. This is also helpful if you have other satyr CC you’d like to use instead.
*As of right now, Satyrs can only be made with the cheat menu if “testingcheats” is enabled or if you invite the Pan sim into your household, but this will be changed in the future!

Myconids
Myconids are another new occult type included with this mod. They are a fungal species of plantsim and they share a Hivemind. Myconids can communicate with each other telepathically and can turn other sims into Fungal Thralls, zombie-like beings covered in mushrooms that can be controlled. Myconids are also able to release spores to subdue or neutralize sims.
Sims can receive a Magic Mushroom from the Goddess of Nature that, when eaten, will transform them into a myconid!
Their color can be changed in their special pie menu and they have the ability to hide their Fungal Form.
*Using cheats, a myconid sim can be turned into a Sovereign Myconid that has a unique appearance and will elicit a reaction from nearby sims. This will be better incorporated into gameplay in the future.

Bizarre Plantsims
If your plantsim happens to become possessed by the motherplant from Strangerville, they may start to feel a bit… off. If the infection is left to spread, your plantsim will become corrupt and transform into what the Goddess of Nature would call an “aberration of nature”.
Bizarre Plantsims are sensitive to sunlight and will burn instead of photosynthesize. They much prefer the softer, reflective glow of the moonlight. Some of their abilities may also be affected, particularly if they have the Florakinesis perk…
They also have the ability to release spores that will infect other sims with the motherplant’s influence.
CAS Items
There are several CAS items in this mod, including conversions of TS2 and TS3 plantsim outfits and hairs, satyr legs and horns, a couple custom gowns and female hairstyles for the Goddess of Nature, conversions of the myconid and spriggan models from Baldur’s Gate and Skyrim, and some bizarre plantsim accessories.
Compatibility
This mod is base game compatible! No additional packs are required, but the Strangerville pack does unlock some special extra gameplay.
This mod overrides the main Plantsim trait as well as their main buffs, the Water need, the timer commodity that normally controls the length of time a sim is a plantsim, and their idle interactions. ***Any other mod that alters these files will conflict with this mod.***
As long as no other mods alter those files, there should be no conflicts!
Future Plans
This was a very fun mod to create! But there is much more I still would like to do to make it even better. I would love to hear feedback and what you all would like to see added to it! Here are some things I plan to work on:
- Adding a better way for sims to become satyrs. Perhaps a special song learned from the Pan role sim? Or a gift from the Goddess of Nature?
- More gameplay for Myconids and Spriggans. It took me a minute to get certain aspects of myconids and spriggans to work, so I wasn’t able to spend as much time on them as I wanted.
- More gameplay for Seasonal Domains.
- More, more, more perks and abilities! I’m always open to suggestions for what y’all think would be useful/fun/helpful.
Finally, thank y’all so much for all the support you give me to be able to make these mods. It’s a joy to be able to express my creativity and a blessing to share it with others.
And, as always, enjoy! 💚
