Hi guys! Been a while; still working steadily on the kitchen set (and save file). But here’s something new in the meantime!
Someone over on tumblr requested that I make a functional wall phone, and it’s something I’ve wanted in the game for a while, so I did my best to make it a reality! I had to learn a lot to make this come to life, but I’m very proud of the result 😀 The animation isn’t perfect, but it’s the best I could do – I hope you guys don’t mind the lack of smoothness.
This phone is usable by adults and children, and has most of the interactions from the cellphone. You can also shift-click it to enable phone calls, and once every day the phone will ring with one of EA’s phone calls. Either a telemarketer, Landgraab Power Company, a prank caller, an ‘unknown’ caller, or an NPC you’ve met asking to come over. I may add more calls in the future for variety.
I’ve included a TS2 (converted by LOolyHarb1) phone and TS3 phone for maximum nostalgia, but keep in mind the animations were made for my custom phone, so the sizing of the handset is a little off. You will also need the Functional Wall Phone package for these to function, as it contains the tuning.
I will make more variations of wall phones in the future (currently I have a 1920s phone someone requested on my list, as well as a rotary phone.) I’m also interested in making a table phone that sits on surfaces, but as right now I can’t figure out how to stop it from moving the animations up, that’ll take me a bit longer.
